Porsche Boxster EV Prototype
I am a technologist and a car nut. I love to dream up new and interesting projects that keep my life interesting. Several years ago, I marveled at the creation of the Tesla Electric Roadster but was surprised at the time and expense it took Elon Musk and the Tesla team to design and build it. While they were building a production electric vehicle from the rolling chassis of a Lotus Elise, I began to realize that with the right people and resources, a high quality electric vehicle could be produced with just about any existing internal combustion engine vehicle.
This was a large project but three years after starting with three people, we have built a high performance electric vehicle from a 1998 Porsche Boxster.
This blog series will document our conversion process from why we chose the Porsche Boxster to build decisions and how to title and register it for road use. Stay tuned… this should be a fun ride!
